seat SPONSORSHIP

Purpose

Seat sponsorship at Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary provides an opportunity for philanthropic donations towards visitor infrastructure within the Sanctuary and the Visitor Centre, as well as a way for the community to commemorate a life event or celebrate a loved one.

While we appreciate people want to memorialise loved ones, the Sanctuary does not intend to be a memorial site. Plaque wording may celebrate a loved one’s life however all wording needs to be approved by the Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary sits on ACT Government land and may be restricted by ACT Government policy and procedures.

Scope

Seats at the Sanctuary are carved out of sustainably sourced native logs made by local artist, Paul Jameson. They are around 2 metres in length and each one is unique in its shape.

Working with ACT Parks and Conservation, the Trust will provide a map to seat sponsors of preferred seat locations, next to walking trails and tracks within the Sanctuary where no ecological or cultural values will be adversely affected.

Seat sponsorship lasts for 10 years. Once this period is up, the Trust will make every effort to contact the seat sponsor to be given the opportunity to renew their sponsorship with a donation equal to the amount of the original sponsorship. If the sponsorship is renewed, the plaque will then remain in place for another 10 years. If the sponsorship is not renewed, the seat will be offered to a new sponsor.

The Trust or ACT Parks and Conservation reserves the right to move a sponsored seat if required however will do their best to notify the seat sponsor to discuss a new location.
